What Kind of Fuel Do You Offer?

MegaFuel delivers Red Dyed Diesel and DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid). We deliver to residential and commercial generators, construction equipment, and off-road vehicles (ie: forklifts, cranes, etc).

What Services Do You Provide?

  • Water Removal

Water accrual in diesel fuel can be difficult to identify without consistent fuel analysis. Because the water emulsifies and sinks to the bottom, the diesel will always look normal at the top of the tank. Unfortunately, water intrusion is common in many aging fuel tanks. When an engine is running on contaminated fuel, pushing the inherited water through the system can cause catastrophic damage. This is routine in our preventive maintenance program. In the case that significant water is found in a fuel tank, we remove it and dispose of both the water and contaminated fuel in accordance with state regulation. After this, a fuel polishing service is recommended to guarantee the remaining fuel is safe for use. A conditioning additive is applied at this point to further protect the fuel from contaminants and deterioration.

  • Additives

Over time, stored fuel can attract algae, fungi, and bacteria, which can affect the efficiency and longevity of your diesel. MegaFuel’s treatments are designed to prevent these issues. By utilizing two powerful fuel additives to treat stored diesel, we help to inhibit the growth of microbes that can adversely affect fuel systems. The first treatment, a solvent and microbiocide, kills and diminishes the presence of bacteria, cleans the walls of the fuel tank, and loosens particulate matter. This prepares the fuel for a thorough filtration service. The second is an oil-soluble fuel treatment and conditioner which helps to control the growth of bacteria, extending the quality and longevity of your diesel. For optimal fuel protection and maintenance, we recommend regular use of these additives.

  • Fuel Delivery

MegaFuel offers diesel fuel delivery 24/7, 365 days a year. Our fuel trucks are equipped with 250 feet of fuel hose and the capacity to carry up to 920 gallons of fuel. We deliver Red-Dyed Diesel and DEF to residential generators, commercial/industrial generators, construction equipment, and off-road vehicles.

Common Diesel Fuel Issues

  • Algae and Sediments

As a result of moisture on the inside of the tank, algae growth can occur on the top of the fuel and along the walls of its enclosure. Moisture can be due to change in temperature, leaks, or cracks in the tank. Algae growth, sediment buildup, and other particulate matter will at this point begin to rapidly form. Before a fuel polish service, MegaFuel ingests the fuel with chemicals that break up the contaminants and kill them. Following this step, we filter all particles out of the fuel, restore its red color, and protect the engine’s fuel lines from further potential damage. Following fuel filtration, our team will add fuel conditioner to help mitigate algae growth in the future.

Is the Diesel Fuel Used in Generators the Same as the Fuel Used in Cars?

Yes and no. All diesel fuel is refined from crude oil and biomass materials. The diesel used in power generators, however, have a red dye added to them. Why? Taxes. Red Dyed Diesel is taxed differently from the diesel you get at the gas station, thus differentiating it from fuel used in your everyday vehicles.
