In more extreme instances, we have seen rust actually eat through areas of fuel tanks. In these cases, a more intensive repair is required. If rust has eaten through your generator, our team will assess the level of repair needed. For a smaller hole, our team would apply an epoxy adhesive to fix the area. For a larger hole, our team would utilize a piece of sheet metal to patch the area. 

Once the above steps are completed, our expert technicians take care to complete the job in a way that will prevent rusting in the future as well as possible. We coat the generator with a specialty inhibition chemical in affected areas, and then paint the entire tank with rust-inhibiting black paint.
